LIFE/FMS

I have been so much stronger this week. I have been cleaning - washing - tidying - painting - just generally going mad to get as much done as possible as quickly as possible before it all goes away. Which is why posting has been a bit erratic this week - I have broken 4 nails - poor old Michelle she works so hard to keep my nails looking good.
It was suggested that I try Iodine as a food supplement to help my thyroid.
I am so hoping it is helping - even a tiny bit of energy makes so much difference.

NEW CARDS

The old goat is away - and the kitten can play!!!
Have been painting walls - cleaning - tidying - been to the Post Office twice with the guard dog. I can get up to all sorts of mischief. Luckerly I have a bit of energy to use so I am going mad while I can.

Well - have been making baby cards - sort of. Still got the greetings to scribe, but I want to find something cute and silly rater than just new baby.

LIFE

Kitty update - Thomas has been hiding in his hide-ie hole for the past couple of days and would not budge - so we were a bit worried (ok - so panicking histerically!!). He poped out again last night full of himself again and if fine again. Just a bit of a re-adjustment time I guess. The lump is so big now, and has a few sores on it - but he is absolutly fine - in no pain at all, skipping about with his brother and beating up fidget knickers again. I have been putting a little bit of Emu oil on his sores to try to ease the skin a bit. I guess it's just the stress on his skin.
We will have these small animals and love then, won't we.
I am tired beyond belief. Have been listing with www.wowthankyou.co.uk - they wanted more to list - they got it!!!

CONFESSIONS

Did you know -
- If you get half-way through an inking project and discover that you have been spritzing your inks with the laminate cleaner spray - instead of the just plain water spray - don't panic -
- it still works fine! ho - hum

DAY OFF??

Monday is kitten's day off
yeah right!!! - Huge shopping this morning.
This afternoon I had to get my Daisy and Dandelion posting ready - I tell you I have read it so many times I can't see it anymore - do me a favour and check it over for me tomorrow and tell me if I have made any boobs - mind you I can hardly read this - so there you go.

I also wanted to make a card to send off to Bramwell Crafts - after the workshop on Saturday Melanie gave us some baby images - paper - and embellishments and said make a card and email it to her.

WHAT WOULD WE DO WITH OUT EMAIL???

So I put this together - bit of a rush - but, as Grandad would say S**t or get off the pot.

Church office in the morning - I have promised http://www.wowthankyou.co.uk/ loads of things to list - hope the vicar does not want to use the computer - could be a tussle going on there.

COPICS

I have been to a Copic workshop today - yes on a Saturday - but the shows have not started yet, so I was free.

We had Melanie Heaton (from Bramwell Crafts) take the class - you do the search - she has classes all over the North West. We coloured this flower image - then made a card with it. Mine is totally different to hers - she had loads of lines going on and punched edges, and huge ammount of raisers (one thing my customers have been telling me is how concerned they are about postage (which is about to go up - again), so I dumped the foam pads, except one layer, and created my own effects. And changed the focus from lines across with the punched flowers set heavey on the side

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Easter is coming up so fast - I am never going to get it all finished. I have permission to put on the back alter over the Easter weekend - which is great - but there might be one or two missing - will anyone notice??

Anyway - this is 'Jesus meets the daughters of Jerusalem'. It is stamped om vellum and layered with loads of mixing of Distress inks - and embossed flowers and a glittered swirl

This one is gold leaf work. Gold leaf is not 'real' gold, it is really, really fine coloured metal - way, way finer than tinfoil. You have to lay down a 'size' - which is a bit like glue - but you have to wait until it is just about dry and lay the leaf over it. I am hopeless - I always end up with big gaps and holes - and when I try to 'burnish' it loads flake off. The only reason I have a go once in a while is that someone gave me 6 packs of leaf when they closed up their shop.
I rubbed this piece all over with a cotton bud and various colours of alcohol inks - it looks really neat - and the gaps blend in with the bumpy bits!
Oh the shapes come from the bits of grunge board I cut out and stuck down before I started to guild.
THE guy for gilding is Jerry Tresser - he has stuff on YouTube, and his site is http://www.jtresser.com/torg.html - his work is just out of this world

NEW CARD

Don't ask me how I ended up making these - sometimes things happen with out me knowing how or why.
It was just a bit of an experiment really
- A6 size covered with scrap book paper - silhouette set on white card - patterned edge and matted with black then a colour to match the paper.

- came out quite well I think.

You know I aid I was going to sell a bit on Ebay? I have sold a few spare craft bits and some of princelet's games (on commission or course!). Got enough to buy a few more Copic Sketch pens - that's what I call a good deal :-). I am hunting the house for bits to list - yipeeee more Copics

The first thing we learnt was the 'polished stone' techinique, and the baby is the first hand drawn topper to be added to my shop

NEW CARD

I had to sort out my posting for next week's Daisy and Dandelion Blog.

you should check it out by the way - loads happening at the moment

I wanted to do my way of using up stickers. All I had left was a Christmas sheet with an angel - so I cut off the snowflake and gave her a flower to hold - clever eh?

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Bit of panic setting in here - Easter is creeping up on us and my 'doing it in order' is biting the dust
Station 7
Jesus falls - a second time
This is all hand done - mixed brown tone water colour stamps in the back ground - face drawn with dots in Copic. I let it dry for a couple of days and coated it in Crackle paint 'rock candy', then rubbed over with sepia ink. Really pleased with it.

Station 12
Jesus dies
This is an amazing inking background technique - with my hand drawn tree and applied 'tears'

LIFE

I am half way through a few projects on my bench - but have to keep stopping and waiting for paint / glaze to dry. grrr
Meanwhile back on the home front:
- the bathroom guys have finished - bless - everything, just, everything, they did this morning went wrong. 2 Hours quick finish turned into 4 hours plus mad panic phone to the boiler man. No-one - NO-ONE - could have done a better job - Terry and Chris - cheers guys. Love you
I worked like crazy this morning to get the muddle sorted. Washed walls - cleaned and rehung pictures - washed floors - polished wood - things put back. Then I slept most of the afternoon - honest guys - one day - just one day - I NEED to get the house in some sort of order - I feel like a reject from a bomb-site. I know - I know - pace - and - slowly - yeah fine. That does not get a tidy house!!! Still got to wait a week before I paint the walls.
Kitty update - The lump on Thomas is now huge - say a satsuma orange size. Thomas himself - absolutely fine. Bright and bouncy - loving the kitten milk - has a few scabs on the lump - but don't know if that is stress on his skin, or where he scrapes it trying to get under the units - am using Emu oil to keep it comfortable - but he is just fantastic.
This week has been a grad old muddle - here is to next week. Oh I start an alcohol course with Colleen Schann www.distinctivetouches.com
I did my Copic training with her - the closest you can get to 'Copic Certification' in the UK

COMMISSIONS

Would you like to see my latest commission?
It's for an avid stamp collecter

I drew out the number and cut them out of card - then tore the stamps in half - inked all the outer edges and laid them down with pva glue. You should have seen the state of me - ink everywhere.

LET'S SELL

yeah - OK - so it's my day off - just had to share
I tried having an eBay shop a couple of years ago - well it was me and my son really and it was a nightmare, so it all came to grief. I don't know why I have this 'panic' about listing things on EBay - come on - it's so easy. So my goal this year is to list a few things - and that will pay for my buying a few things - yeah - makes sense.
So I have put a toe in the water
Princelet was given a CD of the Brit Awards - yep, let's give a Goth Rock Chic main line pop songs - you should have seen his face (priceless). So I listed that - and it was the start - and so now I am going to just gently add an item every day or so - and then I can SPEND it all
good game plan

NEW CARD

Found these in my decoupage pot
the cards I made from these last year sold instantly - so here's hoping

It's a really pretty country side decoupage

- and I came up with these slogans.

I discovered last year that people seem to like the more message type text - rather than just 'happy birthday'.

OOOH I hope this is a good year on the stall

NEW CARD

I had a bath in my new bath - don't really think it is christening the new bathroom - all there is is the bath, a tiled wall - and loads of space - but it was lovely

New card for you today. It is all about the inking technique the is on the card behind the bunny really. The card was already embossed with 'happy birthday' and I applied alcohol ink in stripes with a felt pad. The bunny is decoupage - and you can see all the other layers

LIFE

Hi all - getting better slowly. Had the most dreadful sore throat / bit of a temperature / headache / sniffles - have been stuck in bed with kitchen and bathroom privileges. The men have come to fit our new bathroom today so I have escaped to the summer house with fidget for a bit of peace and quiet while they rip off all the old tiles. It is a beautiful day here at the bottom of the garden - really clear blue sky, bright sunshine - and I can see the trains going over the fells to Oxenholme.

I am working honest:-) I have been searching for web for places to list my work for sale, so I can start to sell a bit on line. EBay is hopeless - I know about misi and folksy and a couple of others, but they cost money and I want to experiment a bit first. I do list a little on misi but it's only 20p a month. There is a new one starting up http://www.wowthankyou.co.uk/ , I was 'headhunted' by them when they first started the planning - that launches next week, and I have found a couple more. I found a super one http://www.artfire.com/ - only thing is, it seems to be all USA. Shame as it is a really easy to use one with lot of functions. Still listed several things it can't do any harm and it will show up in the search engines.

Other news? Thomas cat is fine - bouncing about like a spring lamb. I came up onto the bed the other morning purring away - I don't know if fidget was so deep asleep he did not notice, or he was shocked into keeping still, but there was no fur flying. The lump on his back is now huge and he can't roll about on his back any more, but no signs of it effecting him in any way

I should be back to work properly tomorrow so will have something to show you.
