Scrapper's Delight

I have a new Angel image for you to day - from Janice over at Scrapper's Delight.  You know me - I am not a 'cutie' people person - but I really do love the Gothic look that Janice gets into her drawings.

The wings are a neat trick I use sometimes.  Go over just the outlines with a fine tip metallic pen - this one is gold.  It gives you a light feathery look that is really pretty

Gecko Galzs

Here is another in my occasional series of images from the Gecko Gals collections.  I have the Chinese set - you get 50 in each set - yes 50!!!!  So I will be on this gig for a while yet!

I don't often do soft and delicate - but I am really pleased with the way the colouring has turned out.  I Used the Copic B9xs with a dash of the palest Rs.  It is such a dream-ie image I thought the sentiment was perfect for it

Hope you like it

Shelly's images - Designer's choice - Text Me

Shelly's Blog - HERE
Shelly's Images shop - HERE

We got to have a free choice again this week - this is the very first image I ever had of Shelly's - way before I started on the team.
This week we have to add some text.  That's not tough for me - I always add text - part of my trademark.

Hubby said it is one of the nicest cards I have done - so how's that for praise

Copic coloured  with all the E7xs - the heart has a coat of glaze on it and really stands out.

You can get the doggie HERE   and he is only $1 this month so grab him quick

I chose this teacher image from Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps - I thought it was a bit diffrent.  The card / pouch is a diper fold that I made an inner to slide in and out.
The ribbon flowers are dead easy.  Take a length of wid ribbon - fold in half - run a running stitch along the fold - gather it up and swirl the flower round to make a nice shape - and ust the thread to over sew at the base to keep it all in place.  I glued on with silicone and put a button in the middle

quick kissie

Quickie shout out for the freebie of the month on Scrapper's Delights

It's a lipstick - kiss - image - - - but you know me - - let's corrupt it for a Valentine's days card!!!!

I put the kiss image into my Publisher - and made it big enough to use on a 6" square card - then the magic - I changed the colour to a strong pink - how cool is that!!!!

The image is matted with red - and the letters are cut on the Cuttle bug

- how cool is this

My guy

My palace guard dog really does love his veggies.  He stands under my feet when I do the dinner just waiting for the scraps to come his way.  His all time favourites are the cores out of the cauliflower and broccoli - he is just nuts for them.

He carries them off tot he corner of the dining room and chops away for ages.

Scraper's Delight

I said to Janice that I was doing the Valentine archer and she said - 'that's my faverate' - ok Janice - NO pressure there then!!!!

Hope you like what I did with her

I had the idea for the topper first - the embossing at the side and the ribbon - so I did all theat first - then I dug in the scraps box for something that pinks and reds with out being too heavy.

The colouring is Copics - really pleased with the hair.  Still not all that good at heair - but this worked out great.  New colour combo - the E9xs are an aubun look

Shelly's Images - Designer's Choice

Shelly's Blog - HERE
Shelly's Images shop - HERE
Hay - we free range of the shop to pick what ever we like this week - talk about a kid in a candy shop!!!

In the end I settled for this wonderful little boy star fishing

There is loads of occasions that you could use this - and you know me - always an extra one for the boys.

This time I made a picture - A4 in size.  I made the digi bigger - and changed the colour to a light blue.  The original idea was to scribe over the printed image, but when I was playing with spacing it fitted really well into the curve if the moon.  I left the image totally plain and added a few silver stars round the fishing pole - then stamped a silver swirl at the bottom and added a couple of cut and embossed stars.

I had a cute little wowl from Copic Marker scrapbooking.  We have always called them wowls in our family - no idea why.

I bet You would never think of Copic Marker's site to get digis! - I have had several from them during my time on DYSU and they are just super.  Really good quality and very colour-able - I guess being 'Copic' friendly they understand about colouring.

    ANYWAY
    - my wowl-ie

    - wooo says that you have to use an image as a wooole item!!! (sorry - drifting again ;-) )

The moon is part of the digi - but I cut it out and added it separately.  the flowers are punched to match -

    - Copic colouring - with the cute-ist owl pattern scrapbook paper that has been sitting in my off ice for at least 3 years just waiting for this image

    Life

I have been so brave - I wall papered one wall in my bed room in my little flat.  I got the wall paper for something silly like £1 a roll when Focus were selling up - but not had the nerve to have a go.  It's years since I did any wall papering.  I did paste the wall instead of the paper and it helped make the job a lot less fiddly and messy.

It looks really super - not sure I want to do loads of it though

    And more

Several people have asked me to make up my poems as cards.  It's something that I have resisted because it means scanning it in and I do try to avoid modren convenience.  But as I am using digital images more and more I thought I would - with the promise that nothing is ever altered in the scan from the original.  Some calligraphers scan into photo shop and 'tidy up' - what's the point int hat?

So here is my first card of the Inner Peace poem

It is something that will be in the shop and I will keep topping up.  They will still all be different bacause it depends on what papers I have in the office.

    More calligraphy

Guess I am on a roll here.  This was a recent commission for someone who has been very poorly (but getting better!).

This is this the rough workings so you can see all the lining up.I usually work a piece 3 times before the customer gets it.  The first gives me a rough idea of the line spacing and layout - the second gives me a chance to tidy and 'hone' the spacing (that's usually the copy that goes to the customer for final approval) - and the third is the (hopefully) final piece.

Bet you thought I just wrote it out!!

Do You Stack Up? - #54 - Pink

    Challenge #54 is all about

    PINK

    Our sponsors are :-

    The Stamps of Life

Winner's choice of 2 stamps sets

Since I was sent a 2 stamps from Stamps For Life - I thought I would make 2 cards ;-)

I chose background stamps for a change so that I could practise my inking and collage techniques.  Isn't it great to be usiny wild colours again - yummie

The first is fairly straight forward - stamped and decorated.  I cut the card shape with an nestabilities die

Then I got more ambitious.  I stamped the background in 3 different colours - embossed with clear holographic powder - then die cut to get the heart shapes.

    Calligraphy piece

Now that Christmas is over I can show you a commissions I did

It's a beautiful poem - and a new one to me.  I was so cross with myself as I had to re-do for a spelling - will I never learn!  The second copy was not as good as the other - there you go - that's what hand inked is all about.  I will do it again I think - just for myself because it's so pretty.

You know - I look at all the studies that Monet did of his lily pond and I think how could he do 12 paintings of the same?  Yet give me a poem to scribe - I will happily do it and re-do it over and over again.  Guess his button was lilys - mine is letters

    Tuesday - Invite range re-launch

Here's a laugh for you.  I pulled the party invite range from the shop a while ago while I decided what to do with it.  Now I have decided to get a scrapbook as a sample book and paste in the ranges on pretty scrapbook papers - each style on a page - you know like the big wedding stationers sample books.

Anyway - I picked up an album for £8 in Cutting Edge Crafts sale (these guys are so good, fast and reliable - and no postage)

Then I picked up loads of scrapbook papers from David over at Craft Obsessions (such a nice company to deal with)

    - I dug out all the old plans and samples
    - -
    - -
    - and I am going to have to re-make the whole lot!

    - my scribing hand has improved/changed so much in the past 3 or so years it's quite different.

This project will keep me playing for weeks ;-)

Now my poor little head is exploding with new ideas for designs - will show you when I start to get a grip on it all

    New thing!

Have you seen those huge vynal stickers that you put on the walls?  They has some in Home Bargains the other week when I was mooching about.  I thought is would be fun for the flat bathroom to add a bit of interest.

I got the London one - I use to love spending time in London.  It sits alond the short tiling over the bath and it really looks super

    Shop news

I have managed to find some thiner felt that you can use in your die cutting machine.  The felt has to be really tightly pressed and a quality fabric so that it does not 'fluff' out when you try to cut it - this is just perfect.  I even used it in a swirly Createability one with loads of tiny stems - no problem.

You can find them HERE in the shop - 55p for a 9" x 9" square - loads of colours

Shelly's Image - Snow man set - out with the old - in with the new

    Shelly's Blog - HERE
    Shelly's Images shop - HERE
This wonderful snowman set has a tree with in - you know how cracker I am over trees
The hard part is the theme -you have to use something less than 1 month old.  Which is great for all of you that had crafting stuff for Christmas - the old goat got me a sofa for my flat.  Perhaps I should take the picture on that and say it's new!!!!

Little Artistic licence may have to come into play here!

The only new thing I have had recently was this stamp set.  It was free on a magazine - it's the reason I bought the magazine ;-)

I stamped the image - then masked it and inked the background (really must do a tutorial on that - I did remember to take photos).  Then I cut the trees close and shaped them.  I left the image plain so that it really stands out.  The quote is from Peter Pan - the directions to get to Never Never Land
