I don't half have some daft ideas!

So - the conversation went something like this ...

- It's my BFF's birthday and he loves your cards - could you make something Beatles - music - guitar

- I have this cartoon type image- this pretty one - or I could make the whole card in a guitar shape - no idea how or what - but I  will create 'something'.

It is all make from plain card - all the details are drawn or gems.  Don't ask me how - I have no idea - I just fiddled about.

Summer house project

Seriously getting into this black and white lark!!!

The weather has been so amazing I actually could have both doors open and get the first coat of black on them and the frames.  Hubby has re-seated the hinges so that the main one closes properly and I don't get a cold blast of wind through the gap.

 And I treated myself to a pretty light - I love pretty lights

pics of the Summer house

I am still plodding along with the make over in the summer house.  Just doing a tiny bit more each weekend.

I have got the first coat on the ceiling.  I reckon it will take 3 coats of white - but I should get away with 2 of the black.

And the bunny has moved in!  I love hares - hubby bought me this last Christmas and it's been sitting safe indors waiting for his new space to be ready.

I really much pick up the white tablecloth to cover the knitting machine - the purple stands out like a sore thumb!

Sew Pleased!

This dear old machine has not seen the light of day for 15 years!

It went upinto the loft when we moved to this house - and vanished.

The old goat is having a serious muck out and pulling out every thing out from under the eaves so he can move all his work space round - and it turned up!!!

It was my Aunty Doris's in the first place - and was sent down to my mum when she died - and I saved it when she died.  

I may try to get it going next weekend if I have a clear head to work it out!

Square of the month - chain link pattern

You will need;

1 strand of double knitting to be worked on 4mm knitting needles – about 12g

Or 2 strands of double knitting (equal to chunky weight yarn) to be worked on 6mm knitting needles – about 20g

·         If you are using the double knitting weight of yarn, then use 2 strands together throughout.

·         If you are using the chunky weight of yarn, then use 1 strand throughout.

·         Remember to count all the rows as you work up the square.

Cast on 29 stitches.

Row 1: *(knit 1, purl 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

Row 2: *(purl 1, knit 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, purl 1.

Row 3: *(knit 1, purl 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

Row 4: *(purl 1, knit 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, purl 1.

Row 5: knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit to last 4 stitches, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1.

Row 6: purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl to last 4 stitches, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1.

Row 7: knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, *purl 1, leaving the yarn at the front of the work – slip the next stitch purlwise – repeat from * to last 5 stitches, purl 2, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1.

Row 8: purl 1, *knit 1, purl 1 - repeat from * to end of row.

These last 4 rows form the pattern – repeat  5 more times

Row 29: *(knit 1, purl 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

Row 30: *(purl 1, knit 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, purl 1.

Row 31: *(knit 1, purl 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

Row 32: *(purl 1, knit 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, purl 1.

Cast off.

I use Robin double knitting 100% acrylic yarn for all my knitting work.  If you are using pure wool, or a wool mix you will need more as the yarn is heavier.

Saturday Art day

I had better show you how far I have got with this - otherwise the day will be gone.

This is for my friend Bob who is very poorly at the moment - I hope he is well enough to sit out in the beautiful sunshine today.

The background is the Fireworks spritzers which dry waterproof - and the ink is Ancient Copper.  I hope to add little scenes in some of the spaces when everything is dry - we shall hjave to see!

Little Treat!!

Ok - I confess - I bought myself a present!!!!

I did an on-line survey and they gave you a £5 Amazon voucher as a reward.  The really funny thing - it was all about exercise and how much and when and all that - - and they asked me twice as I really didn't think my opion really counted (as in - I can't - - ever!).  But - hay - £5 is a free(ish) pressie when you are hard up ;-) 


Soooo - what did I buy?

I don't normally 'do' gadgets - but I have fancied one of these for ages to pick my pins up from the floor.

Kit of the month - Crochet Pumpkin Garland

Something a little different this month.  We have the instructions and yarns - to start you off - then you can make a garland with as many pumpkins as you fancy.  Space them out - make them close - group them in 3s (that's fun!!) - once you have the 'how to' - I expect great things!!!!

Saturday (no) art day :-(

I am totally shattered - I have had a really rough week.  The people in the flat above me have been fighting for 3 nights in a row - last night they woke me up just after midnight - and carried on shouting off and on until 1.30.  

I am so tired that I can't see straight!  It's all right for them - they can stay in bed this morning - is there a tactful way to mention it????

So I am going to have a very gentle, peaceful day catching up with listing all the Halloween dog bandannas on the website - then I will go home a bit early if there is none about!
