knitting Square - Caterpillar Stitch

OK - this month has fallen apart - being with out a laptop last week has totally thrown everything out of sync - and now I have to get used to the new system!!!  At least the chappie moved everything across so at least I can just start working.  I can't do videos any because the program I used is on the old laptop - and they quoted me stupid money to add it to my new machine - so that's not going to happen!!!!

so - for this month's knitted square pattern - Caterpillar Stitch - a super easy, fun stitch that adds real texture to your projects

work with double knitting and 4mm knitting needles - or 2 x double knitting (chunky weight) and 6mm knitting needles for a bigger square

Cast on 29 stitches.

Row 1: *(knit 1, purl 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

Row 2: *(purl 1, knit 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, purl 1.

Row 3: *(knit 1, purl 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

Row 4: *(purl 1, knit 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, purl 1.

Row  5: knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, *(purl 5, knit 1) – repeat from * to last 3 stitches, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1.

Row  6: purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, *(knit 5, purl 1) – repeat from * to last 3 stitches, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1.

Row  7: knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, *(purl 5, knit 1) – repeat from * to last 3 stitches, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1.

Row  8: purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, *(knit 5, purl 1) – repeat from * to last 3 stitches, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1.

Row  9: knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, *(purl 5, knit 1) – repeat from * to last 3 stitches, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1.

Row 10: purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, *(knit 5, purl 1) – repeat from * to last 3 stitches, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1.

Row 11: knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 2, *(knit 1, purl 5) – repeat from * 3 times – to last 6 stitches, knit 1 purl 2, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1.

Rows 5: to 16: form the pattern.  Repeat these rows once more

Row 29: *(knit 1, purl 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

Row 30: *(purl 1, knit 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, purl 1.

Row 31: *(knit 1, purl 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1.

Row 32: *(purl 1, knit 1) – repeat from * to last stitch, purl 1.
