In the office

You know something that is still odd to me??  I am working on projects for the new Do You Stack Up challenge blog - launching soon - and I can't show you anything yet!  So frustrating.

There is so much going on over there - I am challenged already!  Loads of images I would never normally work with AND tie it to the weeks theme.  There are so many new ideas coming up and I am champing at the bit to show you the stuff I have done.  Plus all the sponsors Alison has joined up with - you never see this kind of stuff in the UK - it is a total revelation I can tell you.

Book mark the Do You Stack Up and join us every week - blog open now - challenges start 6th January

Challenges

Delicious Doodles challenge this week is 'Purple Reign' so I thought I would try something a bit different with my Fawn from Stretch n Bubbles.  It is such an elegant little chappie - I just love his big floppy ears.  This is the last of this background paper - and it's such a shame, it's one of my favorites - the flowers are all glittery.

Clean desk

Now - you don't see this often - and I can't guarantee it will happen again soon.

My desk is clear.  Yeah - you heard it - my desk is clean and tidy.

I have at last been up and about a bit more today - this cold is the worst I have had for years, but I think I am winning now.  Must get back on the ball - loads to do.

BRING ON THE WORK!!!!

I usually find a gift box pattern to share with you at Chrismas - running a bit late because I am still full of the stinking cold. This one is a bit different.

I used this Zen from Stretch n Bubbles - you could dress it up Christmasie - I wanted to keep it gothic to match the paper

New Card

I wanted to do something really different with this ghost from Stretch n Bubbles

He's such a cutie it would be nice to use him more and I wanted to experiment with a bit of vellum.

I printed the image onto cream card - put some patterned vellum over it and drew round with a pencil to get the shape (some printer will print directly on velum but mine won't).  Then I cut out the shape and stuck it on top of the ghost.  I drew over the top with a black permanent marker and coloured the spots with silver gel.

You can't see the effect in the scan - but it is really pretty.  The pattern on the vellum shows slightly over the ghost, and it's mat finish really contrasts with the bright silver gel.

It would be a great technique to use over a wedding dress image to

New Card

My dear American friend send me some stamps for Christmas Yeah so - it's ALMOST Christmas!) - I have seen these images on other people's blogs but we don't have them in the UK.

I stamped this and thought - coffee - gold, cream - and swirly.

Don't ask me what the paper is - all I can remember is that I bought it as a pad because I had never seen anything like it.

Everything is matted with a tiny mirri gold border and the gems are yellow

New Idea

Don't know about you - but our kids are home for the Christmas holidays now.  Are they board yet?

Quick tip - you know you can make digis bigger? - make them up to A5 size and print 2 on a sheet of paper and cut in half for a quick colouring project for them.

There is no deterioration in the lines on these images, even though I made them so big.

Stretch n Bubbles have loads of monsters for boys and fairys for girls as well as all sorts of animals

Dragons

I have new Dragons!!

And I have been practising colouring them

The dragon stamps come from Sweetpea Stamps .  She has loads of new artists working for her now and I would love to try some of the others - trouble is I could spend a fortune so I have to ration it!  I am not normally a stamp person really and these are the only folk I have really fallen for.

I was not sure what I was going to do with them, but I think I will make them up into a wall hanging with a ribbon down the back and a big soft bow at the top

Challenges

Over at Ellephantastic the challenge this time is wish upon a star or Christmas or winter.  Don't know about you - but I am sick of Christmas cards now, thought I would make a winter birthday card.

I used this cute little deer from Stretch n Bubbles with loads of icy blue and silver.

TIP - I cut the snowflakes using mirror card on the Cuttlebug - then ran them through with the snowflake embossing folder before I pushed them out from the sheet.

The challenge lasts over Christmas so you have loads of time to enter

Quickie cards

Got a last minute quickie to do? - Someone sent a card and you forgot them?  There is always one isn't there?

A5 card - put the front into an embossing folder and run it through your cuttlebug (or whatever) - gently swipe an ink pad over the top on the raised areas -  add a greeting on the top (bit of glitter - few liquid pearl drops) - and a ribbon

Bingo - job done

Day off

Monday is kitten's day off

I am a LOT better today - moving about and doing stuff in very small doses.  I have been finishing a couple of commissions and challenges and it's a case of wotking for an hour - siting for an hour - bit more work - resting again.  But I am winning - so I should be on track for the rest of the week

Life continues!!

I am a little more comfortable today - I can stand to work for an hour or so before it becomes too much.  I have been making a baby album for a friend (which I can't show you cos it's for a pressie - but it's very pretty).

I have had my Bind-It-All machine since last Christmas - and it still scares the life out of me when I have to punch the holes for the wires (not one for gadgets really).  I am getting more confident with it and I am going to produce a range of albums you can alter yourself in various sizes using the very pretty parchmarqe range of paper and card.

Meanwhile you can check out the albums I have in the shop - all 10% off at the moment

Life - keeps getting in the way!!

OK guys - who's the muppet that has put her back out - and now has to sit very, VERY still ? ? ? ? ?

That would be me then - I didn't do nuffin' - honest guv!  - - just sitting there and stuff happened.

I can sit - VERY still - and I can lay down - without moving - and I can walk about a bit (slowly)
              - - - it's all the bits in between that are total agony - - pain-killers / hot patches / alcohol keeping me going at the moment - oh joy
BUT - I do have NEW dragons to colour

----- watch this space

Life

You have NOT got to laugh!!!!!

The guard dog has had a hair pulling habit for a few years - and the past 6 monthsor so it has become a cumpulsion.  He actually muves the bald spot about to suit where he feels like - how controlled freak is that!  - and they say dogs have no brains.

ANYWAY - we have tried loads of stuff (even those 'flowerpot' collers - he so hated that one), and now we have wrapped a crape bandage round his whole middle so he can't lick and pull.  You know - I think he likes it!  It is only tucked round so he could easliy pull it off - but it has stayed there for hours now.

Do we have sucess? ? ?   Will let you know

Challenges

This darling little space rocket is available from Stretch n Bubbles.

In my on going quest to make more men's cards - I used the sketch challenge over at Sketch and Stash to copy.   I like their sketches - they are quite simple to experiment with.

The finished card is quite simple really - but if you add a bit of 'stitching' round all the edges it really add loads of texture.

The old bit of stash I used was the chipboard arrow - have had these for ages and not really used them

Rest day

I had my nails done to-day - love having my nails done.  I have acrylic coating put on them because the Fibromyalgia means my nails are very week and they split across - and it's very painful.  The acrylic keeps them together and protects the nail bed - and I get to grow them a bit.  Dear little Michelle works so hard to keep them on for me - and she never moans at me.  I have been going for 7 years now so she has got used to coping with them.

I am still very sore from yesterday - so I am going to catch up with last ninht's Corrie and have a restful day

New card

This darling little scotty dog, available form Alison -HERE - is just perfect for the weather here in the UK at the moment

I made him to put into the Copic challenge blog so I really worked hard on my colouring.  The theme this week is 'light source'

My light source is above his nose.  I wanted to keep it gray and frosty looking, the background paper is a gray frost pattern, the pale green mat is a sugar-coated card stock, and there is mirri silver card, and glamour dust on his fluffy fur.

Challenges

Gosh - my internet is giving me grief!!
It's taken me all day to get to up load this challenge for http://sketchandstashchallenge.blogspot.com/

it's a sketch to copy and use some of your stash - so here is what I did

I used the wonderful girl pirate from Stretch n Bubbles HERE.  The background is embossed with a new Cuttlebug embossing folder that I picked up in a Halloween sale - it has skulls on it - 'that will be useful' thinks me.
