Don't you just Love that inspiration image this week - it's called wool bombing.  Where you fill a space with knitted / crochet bits and bobs.  We are doing this in Kendal - we are going to decorate all the lamp posts with knitted bands.  How much fun is that?

Following my very 'girlie' run lately - I just had to have this one for the guys.

The image is with Lili of the Valley
 - and the paper is yonks old - added the ribbon scraps just as a bit of fun - and to add to the 'stripes' them

Scrapper's Delights

Scrapper's delights - SHOP
Scrapper's Delights - BLOG

There are always loads of little extra sentiments on Scrapper's digi stamps.  They come as a zip file with loads of bits and bobs.  I don't very often really use them - but I had a bit if an idea.

I made gift tags in my Word program - and I feel so smug with myself

This is what I did.

Open your Word (or other text) program.  The reason I used Word is that there are already set shapes that you can insert with out drawing them.

Insert a shape - what ever you want

Use the - insert a text box feature to create a box inside the tag shape
then - from inside your text box - use insert a picture to add your text.

Then you make the text box line 'no colour' - or a fancy line.

You can easily fiddle about with size and angles to get the look you want

Then - print onto your card stock - and you can still colour and decorate to make it personal

I know this is very basic and simple - but we all have to start somewhere!

Tuesday - shop talk

Check out the new website for the shop

I still have to add pictures of the shop front - but is full of rubbish at the moment - and the old goat has got to make a banner for the shop site with our logo

He has done one for all the signage - the A boards and stuff
We are still waiting on solicitors - one of the clauses in the lease was wrong (in a very bad way) - so it's had to go back to the other side - and they are sooooo slow - we will be lucky to be in this month!

Sunday - new stamps

Although I am not a big stamper - I bought the new Micheal Powel stamps.  Mainly because I have loved his work as a cross stitcher for years - his designs are so different.

Oh - oh - oh - did I struggle - that would be a big yes then.

These are big stamps - really big and sooo full of light, sketchy detail - I kept loosing bits - and getting shadows when I over compensated with pushing and pushing.

Finally I got the look I was looking for

so - here's what I found -
- give the rubber stamp front a really good soap and water scrub with a nail brush - there seems to be some sort of coating that won't let the ink stick - and at this size - it really notices.
- even tried the upside down brayer trick - and a soft stamping pad - both hopeless.
- I tried all my ink pads - Archival worked ok - Distress was a dead loss - the best?  Marvey La Plume pens!!!!!  It could be that I really wanted to go for the pulled watercolour look in the image - but everything else was very patchy.

The words are from the musical 'West Side Story' film.  Love this song - every line is a quote in it's self.  So that got me thinking - why choose?  Do a card for every line!

So begins a new project - all my next cards will follow the lines of the song (ish)

Love a challenge!!

PS - BIG TIP - and you head it it from kitten first - there are loads of 'scratch it' ideas starting to creep into card making - how? - - it's washing up liquid added to metallic paint! - shhhhh

Glitter? - I can do glitter!!!  I had this apple image from  Hope Jacare:
 - and I have to admit glitter? - apples? - ??? - then I started playing and I remembered the old folk song - and my good old Fiskers leaf shapes stencil - and there you go.

The apple 'charm' is solid glitter.  I flooded the space with 3D glaze and covered with a rich red glitter to make it stand proud and look more solid.  The leaves are cut out - embossed - inked - and then glittered.  ~The red background has a heart die cut out of it and all those white specks are silver glitter in the card stock.  Gems everywhere and a bit of holographic foil.

Tuesday - shop talk

I need all yur positive thought please - my darling solicitor is going to tackle the shop contracts this morning.  I swear the other side had just forgotten to send them out until I went in and asked!!!  So we 'should' be able to sign this week - and we 'might' be in by the weekend.

I am home alone this week - I have not had a day away - just been catching up and clearing up those tumbleweeds of paperwork that biuld up.  I am listing all the last cards I have made - some super spring looks going on - in the NEW section of the shop.

Also the new Beatrix Potter range of clear stamps, gems, paper and ribbons has arrived. I have only bought a few of each - seriouly space comprimised at the moment - so if they are a hit I can get more.

Do let me know what you think - this is a big venture for me.

Saturday - life

Funny old day today!

We have been out and about doing errands this morning - to Homebase (15% off!) to get paint for the shop.  2 huge 10 litre tubs of good old Magnolia - I could not get the goat to go for white - really wanted the white - would look so cool against all the dove grey - never mind.
We 'should' complete this week - we may even be in for next weekend.  I am sure the other solicitors just forgot to send the details until I went and asked - 2 hours later our chap had the contract and so did we!  Hurry up guys - so much stock piled up!!!

We went into my fave place - the Age UK warehouse - real treasure trove of stuff.  I picked up loads of cut glass dishes to display things in - saw this on a vintage stall once - looks sooo pretty.  The big advantage is - with a shop I don't have to lug all the stuff about like I do with the stall.  I have packed an emergency stash for the stall - the shows start at the end of the month - and I had thought everything else would be in place - silly kitten ;-)

I am getting all the blog posts as scheduled as I can so that I will be able to take a week or so to get the shop open - getting SOOOO excited.

Quick plug for Scrappers Delight - who are Sponsoring a Craft Your Passion challenge - you should just see what they have done with the clown images - WOW - way to go guys

Now - I am off to cook our Easter dinner (roast beef as you asked) - have a good week end every one - and I will keep you up to date next week as the shop stuff FINALLY happens

This is just darling - I have a real weakness for cows - don't know why.

This is a brand new image that Shelly has drawn - have yu been into the new shop by the way - I think it is much easier to get arruond - and there are loads of extra features.

I wanted to keep the card light and pretty - very girlie - and I found this really pretty pink check paper to match the 'check' theme this week.  It is actually from a baby range - but you know me - never listen. ;-)

Scrapper's Delights

Scrapper's delights - SHOP
Scrapper's Delights - BLOG

The thing I love about these images is that they are just so different!  Really detailed and Gothic looking, and with so much fun.

This month there is a new set of images called Tears of a Clown.

They are so different from anything else - and I just love 'em.

I don't often work in a monotone type look (I get too carried away) - and I don't often not add a greeting - but I wanted to keep this fairly plain with just a highlight of colour.  The backing paper suited the 'grungy' look I wanted - so the colour I used for the balloon was the green - that's different for a clown too.

There are 3 in the series - and they all come with a greeting.

Tuesday - shop talk

Oh Boy - you should just see the Maya Road chipboard albums.  They are just fantastic quality - really thick and chunky.  The clutch purse and the vintage purse are just amazing.  They have a standard 2 ring binder clip in them so you can punch holes and put in anything you fancy.

I don't know just how I am going to sell them and not pinch one!

Gess I 'should' do one to show what you can use them for ;-0

There are 2 styles - both with the ring binder clips - one has a chain - just how cool is thatn - the other is more shaped and has a chunky handle.

I wish the soliciters would get a move on - I am desperate to  show these off in the shop!  There is gonna be one amazing window display.

And there are also what the Americans call coaster books.  I think it came from the pub type coasters - that was the start - but you know us crafters - won't leave anything alone!

Now the take on 'coasters' is the same size as the original - but all sorts of shapes.

I have kept the prices as reasonable as I can.  Trust me you don't want to know about shipping and import duties!!!!  But buying direct from the company means I can get the best possable prices for you.  I would really like your feedback as to what you like.

I just love the seaside bucked and spade - I could dig out the pictures of my son when we used to go on hols when he was small - oooooo

I remembered the guys too!!

Gears - Dinos - and Elephants - mind you - I will fight you for a dino

I also picked up a Christmas themed one.  4 Christmas themed shaped chipboards on a chain.  I got them in the clearence - so I am pleased to offer them at just £1 for you to try out

Saturday

Hasn't this week been just wonderful?  More - more - more - please.  We have all been out and about doing stuff in the garden to clear up after the winter - gosh it's a mess.  We have had next doors dogs over here too - much better for them to be out and about that stuck indoors - and it make them tired out!
Soooo - the big questions is - are we growing a dog rose - or Sweet William

Some of us got sooo pooped - we just crashed where we were (next door's Archie)

And I have been siting in the warm supervising and making scissor keepers  - a new gift range for the shop.  Black work with a modern twist - I still love to stitch.
