The Children were Nestled

This is as far as I have got - winding down now.

The background is spritzed with Rich Cocoa and Pear Tart Fireworks, then stamped with a Father Christmas postcard stamp in Memento Cottage Ivy (I think it's a Personal Impressions stamp).  The text is written in a bright red Pilot ink.

I haven't got the background page ready yet - I will probably just sponge it in reds and greens to match.

Saturday - T'was the Night Before Christmas Journal

Right - I have cleared the decks - the wedding order has gone out - my desk is tidy

So today I am concentrating on the shop and another verse page of my Christmas poem.  It is going to have to be fairly simple - I am really tired this week - and I have to keep stopping to serve people.  

I will show you later this afternoon what I have managed.

Christmas cards

I have started to think about my own Christmas cards.  Normally I see something that sparks me off - this year I wanted to do something with ink - something trees-ie - and add a snowflake charm because I have loads of them.

I am still tinkering about - but this is the general direction

I will sow you a how to with a materials list when I get a proper grip on it - next week probably

Table names

I am sure I can share the table names that I did for the big lunch.  The event was last week so I am sure no one will mind now.

9 names all on a 12" x 12" blue card background.  The name is actually written with a chisel end Copic pen - it's the only thing I could find that would give me a think enough line that would be seen clearly across the room.  The swirls are stamped with a dark blue and the bottom right swirl is over stamped with metallic silver - silver pearl dots added - and yes - the dreaded bling!!!! - just a few gems in the swirls.

upcycled Booth's project

Finally got an afternoon to myself to do a bit of crafting.  It has been frantic busy here  - I have been working on the stationery for a formal lunch and that has taken up all my time.  I don't like having to sit to work - it's really odd for me.  It's not doing my back any good either - my chiro said it would not be good for me!

Anyway - I have been tinkering about with the first verse of my poem.

I really miss my old work space.  This shop just does not have the creative 'vibe' that my old one does  (and I don't have half my stuff here) - I will be very pleased to get back  to my own space - especially with new window that's going in the roof - it's going to be amazing

Look at my window display.

You have to see my new window display.  Dear old hubby has been making me loads of little wooden crates - they are just brilliant for display, and lovely and solid.  I can use them either way up so they are really versatile.  Now all I need to do is persuade him to make me loads more ;-)

journal day

I have lost the data lead for my camera - it's a bloomin' nuisance.  Now I have got to rely on my tablet to take photos and it's not nearly as versatile.

So today is the first day of the new up-cycle a Booths Christmas catalogue day.  I think the hardest thing about journaling like this is to relax and not worry about 'neatness' to much - the beauty of it has to be that it is something else re-used.

I have eased myself in gently by colouring over the white words on black background  and working over the centre, leaving the background pictures to show.
