Stretch N Bubbles

Stretch N Bubles - SHOP
Stretch N Bubbles - BLOGSPOT

You have all seen those dreadful adverts on TV to get yourself 'beach ready' - don't you just hate them? All you need is the sun and the sea - and you are soooo beach ready - well this is just perfect beach ready as far as I am concerned.

I am hanging on to summer!  I was tempted a bit to look at Christmas.  The nights are starting to draw in and there is am Autumn chill in the air - but I am digging my heels in and pushing for the last of the summer days.

So this wonderful surf board image is just perfect - in the shop HERE
So then I found some sunny theme paper - and cut some 'waves' - made an oval for the sun and embossed it with rays (glittered and gemmed too of course)

I finally got to the bottom of my email tray and re-discovered this blog award from my friend Alison.  Thanks Alison, sorry, late as always ;-)

The conditions of this award are....

1) Create a post on your blog and post the award.

2) Link back to the person who gave you the award and say if you accept.
3) Choose 3-5 of your favorite blogs to tag, link these in your post too and tell the lucky people they have won the award.
As the aim of this award is to bring unknown good blogs to light, please don't tag somebody with 3000 followers

Challenges

I WON A PRIZE!!!

How cool is that?

I have to hold my hands up - I am just hopeless at checking the challenges I enter - I just never expect to win.  Luckily - I know Helen (she had FMS too - so understands me!) - and she prodded me to say I had win - cool.

I had some credits to spend at

I got a sleeping teddy image - which I made a couple of memory pockets with

Inside is like this
And then I used this seriously wonderful 'by the river' image - I just love the chilled. cool look of this image

I also have a realy cool fairy on a mushroom - which I haven't used yet - looking forward to that one too.  AS WELL as a fence and a bench (which I have wanted for ages) all for a tenner - how good is that?

So thank you to Elephantastic Challenges - and thank you to Crafty Sentiments - I am so chuffed.

I live in a place called Stokke in the south of Norway (12 km from Oslo, Torp Airport). I live on a small farm together with my boyfriend, our 2 children (18 and 15 years old) 3 dogs and 2 cats. I have a full time job, so its during evenings, late nights and in weekends I have the chance to make some cards, boxes or LO`s. But I love it. I started in 2003 and I`m now totally addicted. I don’t think I have a specific style, but I`m a big fan of Tim Holtz products, and love coloring stamps with my ProMarker pens. If you are curious of my work please check out my blog. My old LO`s here.

I had the Dr Stork from Stitchery Bear  (I just LOVE Stitchery - there is always so much going on there!!!) - sign up for their emails (there is a freebie most weeks - and all the gossip),

This week I wanted to try to do the minimal / no colour look in the image look that seems to be about at the moment.  I put a bit of pale earth tone in the stork body and a bit of blue to co-ordinate with the theme - but that's all

New Idea

I am not really sure where this idea came from - but it's been brewing for a bit now.  I do quite well with gift idea - boxes, pouches and money cards - and this is expanding on that really.
A purse to put those gift 'credit' cards that all the shops are using now.

I put a credit card (well - my son's phone card) on to a folded sheet of A4 and roughed out an out line - then kept cutting and refining until I worked out a template that will make this purse.

Inside
I can get 2 out of a double sided 12" square paper - which should be a good little number for Christmas and to keep in stock

another one
I like these - and I think they will evolve a bit before I settle on the final one - but it defiantly pretty's up the gift card

Time Off

For those of you who don't know me personally - I have been job hunting with my son - and it's just a nightmare.  He used to be such a happy, bright, helpful little chappie - now he has become the cartoon suky, bad tempered teen.  It's not doing my Fibromyalgia any good at all I a can tell you.

So - long story short - I am going to leave you a few posts for the week - and sneek off to my flat for a few days for a rest

So - -

Quick Tip

I am at a show at Torver - way out on the top fells - completly in the middle of nothing - so hoping it's fine and dry!!
Left a Quick Tip for you today.
Baker's twine is all the rage at the moment and soo cool.  BUT you have to buy a huge spool - and I bet you don't have the colour you need.

Put a paper sleve round your ruler - wrap some white crochet cotten / twine round - and draw lines with a Copic pen

Cool or what - what? - who would know

Pony things

Last minute couple of pony themed items fot the Torver show tomorrow.  The Country fair is a real old fashioned one display all the country ways - they have the spinner and weavers - and they also have a taxidermist working (YES - really) - walking stick makers and a fly tyer.

It is hosted by the local hunt and so they are pony mad - so I do a few pony things
Super little card - classic palomino colouring

And a no excuses, super cute, really girly, over the top pink,
gift bag - made from an A4 sheet of card
So fingers crossed for a fry day tomorrow!

New Idea

I got a pressie - isn't that nice!

Nicky from CUT AND CRAFT  said I could choose 1 item from her shop to play with for free.  Wow - thanks Nicky.

Have you seen these guys - they have templates to make all sorts of amazing 3D objects.  I loved the train - and the cars - and the houses -  but I thought I  had better start off with something simple and practical for the stall, so I chose the 'Ring Pillow' - thinking I could add the bride and groom names to make it special.

This is my test make-up - just to see how it goes - so it is not as decorated as it would be
Complete box

With the lid off

You get a printed template to make the box base - the box lid - and the inner pillow with the rings.  I need to find something better to make the rings from - but I am very pleased with the overall finish - it makes up such a pretty keepsake

I am very glad I started with something simple.  It just shows that following someone else's templates and instructions is not the same as doing your own stuff - and you soooo have to test it out first.

My advice - DO WHAT THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY !!!!!!

Now I have an idea of what does what - and what goes where - and which needs patterns -  I can just explode with colours and textures and it will make really amazing 3D sculptures that are so personal.

I still love the TRAIN - and the FRONT DOOR - oooooh

pop over and see what you think - think of all those Christmas pressies you could make

I had this wonderful pumpkin image from Prairie Fairy - do you realise that Harvest Festival is just around the corner - wow!
This image is so pretty - loads of trailing tendrals and leaves.  I did it as several layers, shaped and layered with Silicone glue - and I made a huge effort with my Copic colouring - I am so pleased with it

Odds & Soxlets

Have you noticed - Christmas is everywhere.  All the craft supliers have launched this year's new ranges - all the challenges seen to be Christmas themes at the moment - Christmas craft classes are starting - even Harrods and Selfridges have opened their Christmas departments to catch the summer holiday tourists.

I don't normally 'do' Christmas this early - but I think I have been beated into submission ;-)
This character is Pop - who is normally very brightly coloured anyway - I have just given him a Christmas makeover.

He is painted with good old Twinkling H2Os (which are still being made by the way) - so he is all shiney.  I cut a triangle of green felt and stuch it on with a smear of Slicone glue and added a bit of white flock for the trim.  The papers are oldies I am afraid - not even looked at what is about this year.  He is sat on an embossed circle that is suposed to give the idea of a bauble.

So here he is - and I am NOT doing any more Christmas until at least November!!!

Stretch N Bubles - SHOP
Stretch N Bubbles - BLOGSPOT

I don't often make a quick simple card - like to tiddle about too much - but I needed to send something now for someone whi had done something sweet for me.
This kite is a new image from Stretch N Bubbles - in the SHOP HERE

The backing paper is My Mind's Eye - and just perfect.  All I did was mat with a turquoise, wrap with Baker's twine and colour the kite in primary colours.  The panel is raised too.

NEW DT PLACE

I have been accepted onto a design team - how exciting is that?  Scrapper's Delight have welcomed me on board as one of their paper crafters.  This is a site that is all about digital works - scrapbooking - layouts - as well as blank images to colour that we are used to.  They are really pretty designs - modern and trendy images, full of character.

I am launching my new works with this card made using CU Rose Petal 1 - which is FREE HERE to enter THIS CHALLENGE.  There are 3 Rose Petals in the set so far - all very pretty.

The challenge theme is - red - green - white.  I have always wanted to colour green skin - seen it about, but never had a go.  I just love it.  All the greens used are YG1X - light ones on the skin - darker ones on the dress.  Gives you a really tonal look.  The tiny flower gems are actually nail gems I get in a wheel full from a beauty wholesalers.

Now - you are going to have to bare with us as Janace is having to find a new host for her site at 3 days notice.  She is busy solving that problem so that the site won't suffer over the weekend.  When all that is done she will give me a profile etc on her site.  In the mean time I am just sharing all this with you and sending you over to have a look at her site.

I am really looking forward to having my digi experiance stretched - and I hope you will join me for these new experiments

pocket book

A customer gave me a prod to add some more pocket / meander books to the shop - I have neglected them lately and there is not much there,

So - first - a pocket book

It's a wonderful 12" double sided scrapbook paper - and some of the flowers are actually 'fluffy' - sooo cool.  I folded a tuck up - ran a ribbon round the back and decorated with this gorgeous digi.

The digi is from a lass that has some wonderful imps and fairies and I can't for the life of me find who it is - I know I should know.  Anyone recognise it drop me a line and I will credit her - thanks

This darling monkey image from Digis With Atitude is suitable for loads of occasions - I just wanted to have a bit of fun with it.

The red piece is embossed with flocking - is that still embossing? - and the green is embossed with the Cuttlebug folder 'Forrest Branches' (which I thought was really suitable ;-) ) - and rubbed over with a bit of brown ink

New card

This is created with several stamps.  The grapes are one - the label - the large - and the small leaves - and extra tendrils.  I stamped it with Staz-on dark green and water coloured it using Mavey La Plume pens on a palette with water and a brush.  The greeting is scribed direct onto the card - it took me years to get the courage to wright direct onto a finished card.  You can't often do it - you have to have the right card that won't feather the ink - and you can't write on patterned paper as it very rarely shows

anyway - the finished card

Stretch N Bubbles

I love a twist on words - being a calligrapher I spend hours with just text.  And this 'Bird' day really took my fancy - in the SHOP HERE

I think it would do for a male card as well as a female so I have tried to keep it as both.

Copic colouring (of course) - but kept fairly light and simple.  The shapes are a nestabilities - one of the labels.  And the big brown shape is embossed with the candles folder from cuttlebug
