Dragons

I am home alone today - the old goat is doing a wedding and son is off down the snooker hall - so I got out my fav dragons.  Don't get to use them as much as I would like and all I really wanted to do today was colour - so I made 6 simple - but so pretty - cards.  There is loads of extra detail you can't see like gems - 3d glaze - glitter - irredecent shiny tummies.

It has been such fun

They will all be listed in the SHOP tonight

Stretch N Bubbles

As it is Royal Wedding Day (did you see her dress - sooo pretty) - I thought I had better make a wedding card.

This dress image from Stretch N Bubbles is great - but I wanted to play a bit more than just colour it.

I do tend to use my images in all sorts of ways - I stencil - and use as templates - cut them up all ways.  I do sometimes wonder if the designer actually mind me changing everything!

Anyway - I used this one to trace the shape onto patterned vallum - then as a templace to cut out the inder dress and dummy shape.

Went a bit over board with all the bling

Challenges -
Simon Says - Anything
Craft Your Passion - layers
Paper Crafting Journey - Bling
Stamptacular Sunday - More than 5 layers - I have 8!

Here is my card - using SEAMS LIKE JUST YESTERDAY from Stitchery Bear.

My US friends tell me the what they call 'pop' dots is our foam raiser - and I have to admit that I mostly use silicone glue because you can shape the image better.

The boy is layerd with his arm and body shaped and raised - and thr big flower that it is all set on is raised too - so I think I am covered!
Coloured with copics and the paterned papers are all matted with a pearl teal - I seem to be into orange at the moment!

Stretch N Bubbles

I had a note book printed for the business with my name on it - quite nice - but not very pretty so I 'kittened' it up.

I used this fairy (in the SHOP HERE) because I thought it would match the grass pattern on the book..

I coloured it with Copics - the wings are painted with irridescent H2Os - punched the corners and threaded a ribbon up the wire spine

Much better don't you think?

Stretch N Bubbles

Kitten Tip - just because an image is called something does not mean that's what it has to be!

This image is called Sunflower - in the SHOP HERE - but it is a great flower to layer which ever colour you use.

I wanted a more tropical feel to try out new inking technique - so I went purple.

I cut out the top flowers and shaped them - then I set them back slightly aside so that it looked like there were even more petals.

It's the first time I have done these 'painted stripes' - and I don't really have the proper stuff to get a clean solid line - but it's very effective and I will have another go.  Might work it up into a turorial for you.

Must clean my scanner plate - it seems to have smudges and dust on it (probably gliter)!

Now the pretty stuff - I have used this cute 70s looking camper van from Little Claire - the camper is coloured with copics and the flowers are cut round their big shapes and layered with 1mm - 2mm and 3mm foam pads so they all stand up more towards the centre.  The 70's and peace sign are cut froma Chttlebug alphabet set - I think it's curls and swirls - the little blue flowers are punched shapes

For my second project I have used a Love Bunny from Amber - this one is Bunny Hugs - I love these clean clear images and can't wait to add a few more to my collection.  The background paper has a flower pattern and there is a flower collage 'swag' made up of all the different sorts of flower shapes I culd find.  Punched shapes - sequins - gens - fimo slices - even the ribbon had a crochet flower string through the middle!
 I like flowers!!!

Stretch N Bubbles

I didn't mean to scare anybody :-) - as if I could quit really!

I went to the osteopath yesterday - not been for months - and it totally knocked me out - still out of it today, but I have been sitting listing new stuff in the shop so check out the new cards - I have some great new images

Anyway - it's a Stretch N Bubbles day to day and this little chappie in the SHOP HERE, is exactly what the weather is like today!

And I had some wonderful summer pattern scrapbook paper squirreled away - and the rest just fell into place

There are loads of oval shapes piled up - some are raised - and the swirls are some new die cuts that I bought and will not star in just about everything!

In the mood for summer now!

Album

This is a sort of experiment.  I saw a post on a zutter forum asking about albums with hinge both sides - and I thought hmmmm.

So frontcover is gate opening - hinged both sides
next page full size hinged right
then another gate
then hinge left
then another gate
and the back page

It's a bit of a fiddle getting al the pages in the correct place - but it's great fun.  I did it with a boy theme - all scruffed up in blue, green and brown - with some old rub-ons that have been knocking about for ages and a tag that I covered to match with a bottle cap embellishment (did you know you can flatten bottle caps in the cuttle bug?).

I have just put in a massave order to re-stock the shop with 'o' wires, but i can't get any of the larger sizes - I do hope Bind-it-all is not on the way out - I love it.

Anyway - if you want the measurements and a plan to copy this drop me an email and I will send you one

New ideas

I don't often buy a craft magazine - when I do it's usually cards and papercrafting.  I bought one a few weeks ago and have just got round to trying out the origami flowers.

Super coool.  Took me a couple of gos to get the hang of it - but they look fab

Added loads of glitter round the top - and a big centre gem - and I put them on to wooden skewers with a bit of ribbon wound round the join.

I think they might make an interesting addition to the stall this summer - say £1 each?  And it uses up some of those huge 12" paper stacks I bought about 4 years ago!

Do You Stack Up Challenge #15 - Scollops

Hey everyone!

Yes! The sun is shining ´cos you guys rocked our challenge #14 with all those beautiful yellow creations! Thanks so much! So, what else does remind you of summer, heat and holidays? What?! Scallops? Gorgeous idea, ladies! Get in your bikinis and swimsuits, grab your paper, scissors and some icecream and get ready for:

DYSU challenge #15

important note: we decided that we are going to announce our winner/top3/guest designer on wednesdays from now on (dead line remains the same), so you are not having a long wait anymore *cheers*!! The new challenge will be posted on thursdays 12:01AM as usual!

Some amazing new sponcers for you this week

Boni Bleaux Designs - are giving $10 to spend on digis

Guylou - are giving 5 digis

Stampfairy - are giving 3 digis of your choice

and of course Stretch N Bubbles are giving images as they do every week

I have just the Youth Football from Boni - cool, another first for me.  Fab images - really modern and fun.  I hope you will overlook any oddities in the look - we have a different stle of football in the UK, but I do think he looks super cute in his uniform.

The backing shapes are cut with nestabilities - then trimmed off.  The papers are my mate Erica Martain's design - they were actually a Christmas range but fab for boys all year round.  The pale blue looking background is actually silver and the fluffed up paper is a handmade Indian paper with tiny silver dots.  It is much thicker than mulbury paper and makes a wonderful fluffy edge is you run a wet paint paint brush where you want the 'cut' and just tear it apart

Summer tags

It has been just glorious here - sun shining - clear blue skies - warm days - heaven.

I have just bought myself a new stamp set - it's the Hero arts Friendly Flags - it bunting pennants that are all the rage now/  Hero Art stamps do tend to be more expensive than some of the others - but by goodness they are such good quality.  They are good and solid - not at all squishy - perfect to use right from the first go.

Anyway - I have up one of my Summer tags into a card just so I could play with making bunting.  The flags are on a string with beads inbetween which is loose on the front of the card.  I have yet to add a greeting - thinking 'Summer Fun' .  Al l I want to do now is make bunting!!!!!

Stretch N Bubbles

It has been so glorious today - sun shine and clear skies - bring it on.

So in that theme - these hot sunflowers - could not resist - I jusr know it would layer up beautifly - in the shop HERE

I don't often scribe on patterned paper - it has to have the right sort of surface otherwise the ink feathers throung the paper and looks dreadful - but it is something I really must explore more.

I tried a some text on a piece of this scrapbook paper and it looked fine - so I looked up these words and scribed it up.

Really pleased with the way it has turned out and will experiment more

- so the moral of the story - try using pattern paper for your sentiments
