Collage
Some one sent me the sweetist little note card the other day - now you have all been warned what happens!
This little card was so cute - and the back had a pattern on it too.
Re-worked as a collage with added butterfiles, flowers - miror silver mat to match the foil on the card. It's really pretty

New Idea
I have had a whole day to fiddle with my own stuff - soooo I have been playing more with the Easel card ideas. Once you crack the basic idea and how it works it is not complicated - but looks just WOW.
So I am playing with the layers idea - and the stamps that my USA boss sent me for Crimbo. First front
And the open view - says - 'May you always have sunshine and joy'
I just love this style of card. The only thing I worry about is that it is very heavy on the amount of paper / card used and the price I will have to charge on the stall. They are just stunning to look at - and the 'easel' style has not taken off in the UK.
It has been in the news - the rise in the cost of new paper pulp and how it is effecting the shelf price. Can't say I really noticed (buying in bulk from the makers) - until I picked up a few 'top ups' the other day. The basic prices have gone up noticeably - that's sooo what we don't want to hear. No ones fault - that's just how it goes - but - ouch - it is going to hit leisure crafters as well as us business types. And eventually all buyers of paper products - that's loo roll guys!!!!!
Anyway - I just love my new cards

Bit of fun
This is a silly bit of fun
It's a little se to drawers - how cute is that? The small drawers are 2" square and the bigger bottom drawer is 2" x 4". It is quite heavy on the paper because you tuck the draw sides over side tabs. I reckon a 12" for the outer case - an A4 for the middle divider - a 12" for the bottom drawer - and 2 matching 12" for the top drawers. I have done a couple for the stall - thought it might be a talking point.

Stretch N Bubbles
I have wanted to have a play with easel cards for a while now - I keep seeing them in other people's blogs - but they are not huge in the UK. Not content with just starting simple I saw this wicked pattern for a post-it holder and just had to copy it.
I used this cherry cupcake image HERE - there is also a really jummy strawberry one
I re-sized the image so I could add a bit of depth to it. Actually it was fairly straight forward, I am going to do a couple more and then I can start playing with size and shapes. Really pleased with the effect it gives.

Our sponcers this week - Black Leaf Design Studios are giving the lucky winner the Chic Frames Digi Stamp Set.
The image I used is available from Black Leaf - HERE
This is another just brilliant idea - I tell you I am learning so much this year. Frames. Yeah - I know - there are plenty of frames - stamps - and die-cuts - nestabilities - wonderful - but we are tied by the size. Now with digis (as I am always saying) - you can tinker with the size. Making a frame do anything you want!!!!
And who says you can only print on plain? I printed the frame on patterned paper - cut out the centre and backed with an old gold pearl - then added the details over everything. I am so looking forward to Spring - can you tell?

Stretch N Bubbles
You all know how much I love the Stretch N Bubble monsters - I have quite a few and decided to create a new modern fun version on the poem Monday's child.
The book its self is a very simple accordian made from green card - it is A7 so quite small

I used 2 x 12"x12" double sided pattern paperso that all the pages and the cover co-ordinated.
The ink is a teal colour - which was great fun after all the formal black I have been using lately
I have kept the pages faily simple because the paper is so patterned and I wanted the monsters to stand out.

New idea
You know - sometimes I see a photo of something and it triggers memories - and then I get itchy and want to re-make it.
So .. . . . . ... . . . . . .
I saw this
- when I was a kid - the ultimate of cool was a vanity caseYours
and it had to be this shape
so I was back in my teens again
and playing . . . .
This is MY take on the totally hot vanity case that we all HAD to have - totally re-created from scratch - in card - as a gift pouch
It's a darling little chap - 7cm on the base line - 7cm total height (in an oval shape) and 4cm deep.
All it took was 1 sheet of 12" double sided paterned - but I did add an extra layer to all the inners to firm it up. The buckle is made from grunge board painted with metallic gold. Ribbon handle, with an added matching tag and a bead fob. And - just by chance - I had some tissue paper the esact colour of the inner pattern

WOW - seriously guys - have a good old rummage through this site. There are loads of modern, practical, every day images all drawn with a light touch that is just amazing - and really useful. I always say - you never really know how good an image is until you get your pens into it - and this was just wonderful to colour. Just think of all the colour combos you could have. I can see me using this again and again

Challenges
I have had the idea to produce a list of all the challenges out there. I often have to submit to challenges as part of my design stuff - and really struggled to get a grip on it. What I want to do is produce an alphabetical list of all the challenges I can find - if the are a product/company/theme based one - I will add it in brackets. I want to include all UK blogs that have REGULAR (week/bi-week/month) challenges - not blogs in other languages or one off birthdays and calls.
It is very much a work in progress and you will find the start on my main site HERE.
Any additions are welcome - just drop me a line - will update you as I go

Stretch N Bubbles
Now - I don't know if it's because I have dabbled in so many arts and crafts all my life - or just that I have a warped mind!
But I saw this BRAND new digi from Stretch N Bubbles
And I thought - STENCIL - yes
Print out the digi the size you want - this covers the front of an A5 card. Then cut out the 'holes' - you may need to tweek the deisgn a little so that you don't have a blank space (after all, they weren't meant for this!).
Then I sponged through the holes with my finger dabber and Distress Inks. There are about 4 shades of each colour - which makes a fab effect.
I have been really good and left it very plain - it's just so pretty

UK ART RAFFLE
Ok every one half way through the month in the UK Art Raffle - better get my entry in (people will think I don't care)
For this month there is a love theme so I came up with
Artist's background papers - love this technique. Oil pastals 'melted' over an inked and stamped background. The heart embellishment is hand made too.

NEW SITE
Just HAVE to show you these
A mate of mine over at Elibee gifts has started making needle felted animals. You don't see needle felting much these days - it's different from the felted bags because you don't hot wash it to create the felt - you sit with a multi-needle device and kinf of tangle the fleese fibres up to create your piece. It is huge fun because you 'grow' the piece under your hande - but - boy - do your fingers know it!!
Go and have a look - I am sure she will have a go at any animal you fancy. Just say the kitten sent you.

New idea
Bit of a reaction to the 'flattness' yesterday I think. I have had this idea brewing for a while. Cut an aperture in a piece of cerd/paper big enough to cover the whole front of your card and emboss it. find an image to suit - this is a Woodware set I picked up in a closing down sale months ago and only just re-discovered. As I use Copics I stamped my image onto my Copic card and coloured it in. Then put some low raisers round the apperture and stick the image under the hole. Add double sided over the back of the piece and stick it to your card - and add your flowers and bling.
Neat - eh?

New dragons
Well I am fairly up with everything - even the memorial book in in the last stages - so - a few hours to do my own thing
and - dragons
As the postage has become such an issue these days - I wanted to do something that looked like it had layers - but was still flat.
So - do you think they work?
Both are all flat - think I do prefer a bit of depth

Do You Stack Up? #6
The theme for this weeks challenge over at Do You Stack up? Challenges is:-
WOW - were you all just the tops last week. Thank you all for joining in with us - and I looked at all your blogs
This week we have 2 sponcers - Kristian's Power Ink is giving 5 digi stamps
And my dear friends over at Bugaboo - whose stuff I just love who are also giving you some of there images free
The image I am using is from PKINK HERE
I love to colour - it's my faverate thing - so I just fell in love with this Scandanavian looking heart - and I wanted to make it look like the old embroidery style that is done on felt with wool. I turned the image in my program and made it as big as (almost) 6", - so that it would be the whole card - and creased on the 'bump'. Then I cut round it so that it was just the shape. I kept my colours basic and solid - no shading or tones here! Then I added a bit of bling - well you have to don't you? There is a small 'stand' on the back layer so that it stands up properly which you can just see in the picture
