SHOWS

Just got back from a school 'do'. It was a ladies pamper evening - not not me: I had the stall - but the old goat was not invited. I said to him on the way (he took and collected me - not allowed that much freedom) - I don't think I have been anywhere in an evening by myself for at least 3 years - how sad is that!!!!!!
Mind you - the household fell apart while I was out - poor old fidget is so stressed bless him (((had a little accident on the floor he was so stressed)))
Dear old goat lugged all my stuff there (and there is extra because of the Christmas gifts) - and now he is putting all the boxes back in the rack. Have you see the shop storage?? It is 4 of those plastic drawer sets you can get. The theory is brilliant (yes MY idea) - all you do is slide out the drawers/boxes and take them off the the event - then the just slide back into their space. All done neat and tidy. But this is the goat we are talking about - - - ooooooohhhhhh boy - the language coming down the stairs
- well - - thank Heaven's princelet is a teenager
That's all I can say.
But bless him - he's done all that just so I can go to do a sale just by myself

FMS / NEW IDEA

Serves me right for taking last night off - you should have see my inbox tonight

I have been playing with box patterns - I want to come up with a 'golden' layout that can be altered to fit any situation with out any hastle.

so far -

Ashtondale (http://www.ashtondale.co.uk/) sent me a bag of left-overs when they were having a clear out - I love there big bag bargains. There were several card blanks that were a lovely soft, silky feel - but the oddest size (shorter that a tall thin, but wider) - anyway I cut them in half - like you do - and made then roughly A7 size. Hay, twice as many for half the cost - I had to make the envelopes anyway so it made little difference. The little cards are covered with a pink scrapbook paper and the detail on the front is part of a felt ribbon that Papermania released last year (might even be longer) - I airbrushed it with a rich brown COPIC ink.

I know - just how amazing is that

I added a few rub-ons just for a bit of detail. Do rub-ons go off? Does anyone know? There were Basic Gray so they were good ones, and nothing from the top sheet would stick down, but the pages towards the back were ok. Don't know much about rub-ons - now I know why I don't bother!!!

I made the hinged box for them to the size I wanted from strong pink card stock, and used the same paper for the lid.

I have a few more experiments to sort it out, but I am going in the right direction now

COPIC

I was totally shattered when I got home from the Christmas fair Yesterday. Don't know why - it was just a little-un - only stood for 4 hours - and it was very pleasant. Anyway, the old goat bought us fish and chips and I went to bed early

What I wanted to show you was this -

I have been colouring (copics) my big Santa stamp (what better way to spend a horrid rainy day?). I wanted to show you the difference a bit of white can make. The first one has the greenery and the red berries coloured - but the second one has tiny little white pen highlights added to the red balls. It just zings it all into life.

Copics are doing me so much good. It's well in my study zone, being inks and all - I have been colouring with inks for years: but there is so much to learn if you want to take it higher - and I just loose myself in it - the time vanishes. Do you think I could get the NHS to give me them as 'occupational therapy'???? - oh well, just better get some for myself then.

NEW CARD

Cooor - princelet was in a FOUL mood this morning. "School was open for all pupils who could travel safely" - yeah but.... - school is open: you go - yeah but....it's 10 minutes round the corner - yeah but,,,,,,GET ON WITH IT!!!!

He came home in a foul mood too - and that's my fault as well

But I had a pleasant day! Really getting the hang of my Copics - next week I must have a go at adding my Inktense over the top

NEW CARD

You are going to get so fed up of me and my Copics!!!

I did this image a while ago in denims and reds - but I had these really yummie pink themed papers (always choose your papers first - then match your Copic colours to them).

It's amazing just how different you can make the images look with a change of colour. Yeah - I know you have always been able to do them in different colour schemes - but some how it stands out more with Copics

COPIC

This is a test colouring. I have never attempted blacks before - and I was unsure what to do about the antlers - also I wanted to play with an air brush background.

I am reasonably pleased with the results - the hooves need more work (really messy) - don't like the ground - very, very pleased with the air brush sky (thank it's at least 6 colours - that's the beauty of air brushing - and see my stenciled snowflakes) - quite pleased with my blending and the highlighting really works - and he has the most wonderful big red shiny nose (big dollop of Anita's 3D Glaze)

NEW CARD

I picked this stamp set up ages ago - when the See Dee's stamp sets were being sold off cheaply - with the exact idea to do this sort of get well card.

The image is coloured with Copics

- background paper green is Papermania secret garden (I love this set and have actually nearly used it all up)

- background brown is from a new place I have found

www.craftobsessions.co.uk.

It is BoBunny 'U Bug Me'. Just discovering BoBunny papers and I really love them - super quality - great modern designs - fantastic colours - and a very good price - even at the top end of the range. Some of the 12" scrapbook papers are now well over the £1 mark - and that's crazy! I don't mind if it's something out of the ordinary - but most of them are just double sided papers and not very heavy weight at that. The BoBunny I bought are heavy enough to make books / albums with, and that's the kind of versatility I am looking for

SHOWS

First Christmas fair last night - huge thanks to all at Queen Katherine School, Kendal. Did reasonably well - sold a few bits and loads of people came for a chat and a rummage. The old goat was mobbed by the kids and we were last out AGAIN. Everyone else had gone long ago - even the cleaners had finished. Crawled home at about 10pm: Queenie is only 10 minutes down the road, so at least we did not have to drive for an hour.
My poor ol' legs are killing me this morning - I am still in bed catching up with the shop stock - thank heavens for the lappie!
Going to have a very quiet day today.
Might colour

LIFE

Now - my house is never really neat and tidy - we both work from home, we are both artists, I am not well enough to do much housework (better things to do anyway, and we have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a lump of a teen - basically it's clean under the mess

BUT this has to take the biscuit - - - the old goat is building a coach in the living room

Life size too, you know - a coach - in the living room.

Just as well this is an old house with big rooms - you wait until the wheels go on!!!!
